Volunteer Spotlight: Jennifer Miller

12/21/2017

Hearts & Hands would like to shine a special light of thanks on …. Jennifer Miller!

As you can imagine, a rehabilitation project requires many different people, each with different skill sets, passions, and ideas. Jennifer Miller brings a unique set of skills to Hearts & Hands through her architecture plans for not one, but two houses in 2017. Her skill and creativity helps transform houses to homes in the near west side of Indianapolis.

Jennifer is helping Hearts & Hands breathe new life into these vacant homes by incorporating 21st Century designs into their layout. She takes the existing skeleton of each house, and transforms it into a dynamic, functional living space. Jennifer has spent many hours of planning, designing, and reviewing the construction of the homes.

Jennifer works as an architect at Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf here in Indianapolis, a company that has had such a large impact on Indianapolis! Specifically, Jennifer has used her talents to design updates to the Indiana Repertory Theatre and the master plan for Crown Hill Cemetery.

Jennifer first reached out to Hearts & Hands of Indiana through her search for a way to give back to her community. She wanted to be involved in an exciting development effort and found the near-west neighborhood to be the perfect fit. Through her search, she was connected with our team at Hearts & Hands and the rest is history. Jennifer has been very involved with Hearts & Hands since attending our Belleview Open House this past spring. She also helped beautify our city during the Saints in the Streets day and showed her support at our Art Walk this October.

We are exponentially grateful for Jennifer’s experience and knowledge on the architecture plans for 729 Belleview Place and 702 Tremont. The updates completed on 729 Belleview helped turn this house into a quality home that the new owner can be proud to call her own. We can’t wait to get started on the rehabilitation of these 702 Tremont! So, join me in a round of applause for Jennifer's exemplary work.
