ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

At Hearts & Hands of Indiana we are committed to being good stewards of God's creation. During our construction process, we install high-efficiency doors, windows and a furnace. Not only are we doing our part to be more environmentally conscious, these sustainable options result in long-term economic savings for our families throughout their entire lives.
Today the great gift of God's creation is exposed to serious dangers and lifestyles which can degrade it...we must pledge ourselves to take care of creation and share its resources in solidarity
                -Pope Benedict XVI, 8/27/2006

Here's What We're Doing
High-Efficiency 95% AFE Furnace
At 920 King Ave, the furnace we replaced had a 60% Annual Fuel Efficiency (AFE). By making the change, we will save our new residents, on average, nearly $250.00 a year. In addition to this economic savings, this change results in an average savings of 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) each year.

But, what does 1.5 tons of CO2 even look like? Imagine a cube that is 27 feet on all sides, or 153 gallons of gasoline, or an inflated balloon with a diameter of 30 feet. Now, that’s a TON (and a half) of CO2!

Doors & Windows
Our doors and windows use low-e high performance glass, a glass coating that blocks heat flow. A proven energy saver, low-e glass reduces air conditioning costs by reducing solar transmissions in the summer. In the winter, it reduces heat loss to the outside and allows solar energy to pass inside.
